10 Advantages of Local Businesses

Following up on Heidi’s post about Service as a differentiator for small (local) businesses, I noticed a post by marketing blogger John Jantsch.

He lays out 10 Natural Marketing Advantages of Small Business:

  1. Focus
  2. Reach
  3. Nurture
  4. Surprise
  5. Transform
  6. Partner
  7. Automate
  8. Educate
  9. Meaning
  10. Play

Many of these rest on fundamental strategic decisions. For example, “Focus” is a basic decision about the direction of your company.

But many of these are tactical tasks that can be done with very little effort given the right tools. And there’s a plethora of these online, some at little to no cost.
